Kitchen Remodeling in Lake Las Vegas, NV

Kitchen Remodeling in Lake Las Vegas is a different job from a tract-home update. The community surrounds a 320-acre reservoir with about 10 miles of shoreline, inside the City of Henderson, and its homes include custom builds, resort-area residences and second homes. Many owners want a kitchen remodel that suits entertaining: a larger island, more counter space, better lighting and a layout that faces the view. Others want a kitchen that is easy to look after when they are away for months at a time.

A community built in stages

Lake Las Vegas took decades to come together. Land was first acquired for a planned lake in 1965, the dam was engineered starting in 1967, and water diversion into the lake began in 1991 after the State Engineer's final dam inspection. Development accelerated after 1995, then stalled when the main developer, Lake at Las Vegas Joint Venture, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 17, 2008. It emerged in July 2010. Because building happened in waves, kitchens here range from 1990s custom work to much newer construction, and finish quality can vary widely from one street to the next.

Common requests from lakeside owners

• An island resized or reshaped to seat more people and open up the view
• Replacing a dated cooktop island with a cleaner prep and seating layout
• Full-height slab backsplashes and large-format floor tile
• Added refrigeration such as a beverage center or second dishwasher for hosting
• Upgraded lighting on dimmers for evenings
• Cabinet refacing or replacement where original custom cabinetry has worn or gone out of style

If this is a second home

Plenty of Lake Las Vegas homes are not occupied year-round. If you will be out of town during the remodel, we work out a communication plan before we begin: who has access, how you want progress photos and updates, and which decisions need your sign-off. Selections like cabinet finishes, slabs and tile are best made before demolition starts, so the job is not waiting on a decision while you are away. We document the condition of the house before work begins and protect floors and finishes outside the kitchen.

Planning around a resort setting

The lake is surrounded by resorts, including the Hilton Lake Las Vegas and the Westin, and the Aston MonteLago Village Resort sits near the water. Narrow village streets and gated entries can affect when and where trucks and dumpsters can go. Tell us what your community or building requires for contractor access, and we will plan deliveries around it. Lake Las Vegas is within Henderson city limits, so we also confirm City of Henderson building requirements for any change to plumbing, gas, electrical or walls.
