Smart Kitchen Spending in Mountain's Edge

Kitchen remodeling in Mountain's Edge rarely calls for knocking the room down to the studs. Focus Property Group started building the community in February 2004, and by the end of 2025 about 12,500 of its 14,500 planned homes were finished. That means most kitchens here are somewhere between a few years and about twenty years old. Many owners are not after a gut renovation; they want a kitchen remodel that fixes what has worn out and updates the look without paying to replace parts that still work.

Where Mountain's Edge fits

Mountain's Edge is a planned community inside the unincorporated town of Enterprise, in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley. It is not a city. Building matters fall to Clark County, and community matters run through the Mountain's Edge Master Association. We confirm both before we schedule work.

Budget kitchen updates that hold up

When money is the main concern, we start with the changes that do the most per dollar:

  • New cabinet doors and drawer fronts on existing boxes, with new hinges and soft-close slides
  • Painting or refinishing cabinets that are in good structural shape
  • A new countertop on its own, keeping the cabinets
  • Backsplash tile from counter to upper cabinets
  • Lighting: under-cabinet strips and new pendants over the island
  • Sink, faucet and hardware swaps

We will tell you which of these will make the biggest visible change in your kitchen and which can wait for a later phase.

When to spend more

Some kitchens need more than surface work. Particleboard cabinets that have swollen around the sink, a dishwasher leak that damaged the floor, or a layout that never worked for the family are reasons to look at cabinet replacement, new flooring or layout and island changes. In those cases, we give you a written quote for the larger project alongside a scaled-back version so you can see the difference.

A neighborhood built around parks

As of the end of 2025, Mountain's Edge had four completed parks: Exploration Peak Park, Nathaniel Jones Park, Paiute Park and Mountains Edge Regional Park. Plenty of residents here are families who spend weekends outdoors and weeknights in the kitchen. That shapes our advice: wipeable cabinet finishes, durable quartz rather than a soft stone, and a floor that handles sand and grit tracked in from the yard and the trails.

Working with the master association

Interior kitchen work generally does not change the outside of a house, but associations set rules on work hours, contractor parking and where a dumpster can sit. If you are adding a window, a new exterior vent for a range hood or anything visible from the street, check with the association first. We can provide a written description of the work for your request.

Phasing the work

A phased plan spreads the cost and keeps the kitchen usable. A common order is countertops and backsplash first, then cabinet doors and lighting, then flooring. We write the quote in that order so each phase stands on its own.

Mountain's Edge Basics

  • Built since 2004. Focus Property Group began construction of Mountain's Edge in February 2004. Plans called for 14,500 homes, and about 12,500 had been built by the end of 2025, so most kitchens are under about 20 years old.
  • Inside Enterprise. Mountain's Edge is a planned community in the unincorporated town of Enterprise, Clark County, in the southwest Las Vegas Valley, so building matters go through Clark County rather than a city.
  • Four parks finished. As of the end of 2025, the community's completed parks were Exploration Peak Park, Nathaniel Jones Park, Paiute Park and Mountains Edge Regional Park.
  • Master association. The Mountain's Edge Master Association is the community's master HOA, so rules on contractor access, parking and exterior changes are set at the association level.

Mountain's Edge Questions

What is the cheapest way to update a Mountain's Edge kitchen?

On sound cabinets, new doors and hardware, a backsplash and new lighting usually give the most visible change for the money. A new countertop is the next step up. We price each item separately so you can pick.

Does the Mountain's Edge Master Association need to approve kitchen work?

Interior work typically affects only the inside of your home, but association rules on work hours, parking and dumpsters still apply. Exterior changes like a new hood vent or window are more likely to need approval. Check your guidelines, and we can supply a written scope.

Can I reface my builder cabinets instead of replacing them?

If the boxes are solid and the layout works, yes. If the particleboard is swollen from water near the sink or dishwasher, refacing will not fix that, and we will tell you so.

Is Mountain's Edge in your service area?

Yes. It is on the opposite side of the valley from North Las Vegas, in the southwest, and it is part of our regular service area. We group site visits to keep scheduling simple.
